Using Find-A-Word
The Find-A-Word feature lets you quickly search for more information on a word or phrase. To use this option, make sure you have the Find-A-Word feature selected on the My Preferences page.
To use Find-A-Word, double-click a word or select a phrase on any course page to display the following search options. (All options may not be displayed, depending on your course adminstrator's settings.)
- Search the Glossary, which highlights all instances of the term in the course glossary.
- Search the Course, which displays a search window listing all pages in the course containing the term.
- Search the Web, which uses Google.com to search for all references to the term on the Web.
- Dictionary, which displays the term's definition on Merriam-Webster OnLine.
- The Close link closes the Find-A-Word box.
